Hip Injury physiotherapist in Dublin

CLIENT REVIEW

The causes of hip pain vary from one person to another.

You can have hip pathologies like tendinopathies in a lot of runners.

You can have groin related hip pain, you can have labral tears in your hip.

You can have hip pain that’s actually referred from your lumbar spine.

You can have hip pain because of other areas not moving very well and all that being placed on that side.

The approach here at the clinic is to rule out all of those sinister pathologies initially and those other injuries that I’ve just mentioned.

And then get you working towards the goal you have in mind.

Whatever you want to be able to do.

Usually hip stops you from doing things you want to do in your life

Our goal is to find out what those things are, rule out the sinister issues and then it’s an active approach where you’re moving and doing things in order to get better.

If you have any questions on this and you’re not sure about it feel free to drop us an email and we’ll be glad to help.

It is difficult to say exactly what the issue in your hip might be without a proper in person assessment. Hip pain is multifactorial and can come from an issue within the hip or even be referred from your lower back. There is no one size fits all answer to the hip unfortunately but here at the pain and performance clinic once we rule out any sinister issues with the hip believe we can guide patients through an active recovery and allow them to participate in what they love to do

Good news, you are not damaging you’re hip by walking or running on it with pain. If you are able to move your leg and put weight on it chances are the pain is very fixable.

If you don’t have hip pain but want to avoid it then it is beneficial for you to do some strength training and to take regular weight bearing exercise. Weight bearing exercises include walking and running, you can’t go wrong building up to 10,000 steps daily. If you do start running make a plan and don’t try and run a marathon on day one.
